A Simple Pom Pom Routine...
Traditionally pom poms are used at sports events to attract the attention of the crowd, to add “sparkle” to a cheer, chant, or dance routine, to distract the opposing team, or to spell out the team’s name.
But there is a growing movement of after-school clubs and activities around mastering the art of cheerleading and dancing in synchronisation with pom poms.
Pom Pom routines can be fun to develop, practice, and perform! There are a number of standard moves but encourage students to use their imagination and develop some of their own to develop combinations and unique routines to music.
Individuals can practice alone or in small groups to perfect technique and timing. Practicing as a group in front of a mirror is ideal.
